Saturday was the 3rd Annual SaskBloggers get together in Saskatoon. The turnout was pretty good with 7 bloggers and 2 guests in attendance. I think we made more noise laughing than kids getting ice cream in the restaurant.

Saskboy (me), Lore_Weaver (whose blog has been spammed into malfunctioning), Jadon, Twyla, Tanya, Zach Bell, and Huffb1 came out to talk politics, pollution, technology, car sharing, blogs, and more.

There’s talk of a Winter Saskatoon get together in February 2009, at an Asian food location in the afternoon. Location and date will be announced on saskblogs.ca soon I hope.

Huffb1 and Saskboy have organized the next SaskBlogs gathering for Saskatoon. This will be the 3rd year of SaskBlogs events in the City of Bridges. We already have 5 bloggers confirmed as being able to attend Saturday October 18, 2008, and we hope to add many more for this indoor gathering at Jerry’s. Huffb1 and Saskboy are organizing a short-notice gathering for bloggers on Saturday April 12th in Saskatoon. We meet at 12:00PM at the Park Cafe on 515 20th St. W. near Ave. E S.

The 2nd annual Saskatoon SaskBlogs event was a success, and attracted the attention of a campaigning Saskatchewan politician. The media were there to cover David Karwacki’s day on the campaign trail, and thus put this story in the Star Phoenix and Leader-Post. As you can see in the photo, I have a huge head, and it dwarfs David Karwacki who is leaning on my shoulder.

Seriously though, it was a good couple hours sharing stories with other blog experts, and we’ll hopefully have an even better turn out next year as more people take up the engaging activity of blogging. Maybe Brad Wall will join us next time, or perhaps a different celebrity?

I’ve never been this excited to have October 13th come up before. But this year I have a good reason, and that’s the SaskBlogs Party at Jerry’s in Saskatoon starting at Noon. It looks like about a dozen bloggers will show up, maybe more/less.

I also got word today that Saskatchewan’s newest political video blogger (who happens to be seeking votes in the coming election), David Karwacki is going to stop by. This means there’s a chance the media will show up too, so if you like to talk about your blog, perhaps there will be someone to interview you.

I expect the afternoon will also be a good time for bloggers who don’t care to dabble in politics. There will be several tables of bloggers, so you can discus absolutely anything if you’re not wrapped up in election fever.
